When a designer owner from Paris meets a local craftsman high in the mountain village of Cordon, Mont-Blanc in the Haute Savoie, a journey begins. This journey started 6 years ago when the owners fell in love with the alpine village of Cordon. A village situated at 950m above sea level, known as the balcony of Mont-Blanc for its stunning vista and mesmerising views and sunsets. Where this small alpine village with total ski pistes of 11km may lack behind the larger nearby resorts of Megève or Chamonix in terms of skiable terrain, it certainly makes up for it with its charm and beauty.

This Cordon Mont-Blanc Chalet is no exception and its owners have spent the last 6 years slowly working in their vision and skill alongside their highly skilled craftsman. Stripping back a chalet that had been untouched for a while, opening up walls and revealing its raw beauty, they have blended their passion in design, art and technology with tradition and warmth.

Everything has been thought of for the future guest in mind, from wellness to entertainment. A love for the mountains, the rooms are dressed with warm and soft tones often showcasing a restored artefact or one-off design discovered high up in the alpine hamlets.

At first glance the chalet does not reveal all and guests will slowly discover and appreciate the cleverly positioned, practical and modern design pieces for your comfort and pleasure. Some that are only found in the most luxury of hotels.

Chalet De Cordon, a home which will surprise you with its hidden luxury, though make you feel at home within the cozy and warm interiors. Outside allows guests to enjoy the spa facilities and amenities to continue entertaining and relaxation needs, whilst you look at the sun turning the white peaks of Mont-Blanc pink as it sets – another piece of magic which awaits you from Chalet De Cordon.

It is no wonder Brigitte Bardot would come to fall in love with Cordon in the 1960’s, visiting for many years to enjoy the tranquility and wonders of Mont-Blanc.

Winter Access

The chalet allows parking for 3 vehicles with heated drive so snow in the colder months does not impact your stay getting in and out of the gentle slope up to the chalet. After days on the mountain skiing, the private ski room allows you to store your ski boots, gloves, helmets and hats all within the warmth of the heated room, to be ready for the following day.

Sleep

Four double rooms and a single childrens snug spread across 3 floors. Each bedroom carefully decorated and designed to maximise space and comfort. Each space ensures a perfect nights sleep from high quality linens to personalised chosen perfumes each individually chosen for each room.

Living Space

A monumental bay window, opening in full, will allow you to contemplate at any time the Mont-Blanc massif with the most incredible view. Within the cozy space is a log fire with 2 arm chairs for extra relaxation and comfort. Little surprises of detail await whilst you sit back and relax.

Grounds

The wraparound gardens allow guests additional facilities which can be enjoyed year round. The outside space consists of a sauna with panoramic window, garden lounge with Vulx brazier, plancha for outdoor cooking, seating for 12 diners as well as an outdoor shower to cool off on hot days. Summer 2024 also sees the addition of a 5x5m outdoor pool. Vegetable garden, walnut and cherry trees also dot this magical outdoor space.

Wellness

From the warmth of hammams in two of the suites to the spa facilities outside, provide guests with an array of relaxation options. Step inside on the ground floor and enjoy yoga with up to 6 guests as well as a massage room for ultimate privacy and wellness.

Dining

The chalet is equipped with Miele and professional pieces of culinary equipment as well as wine cellar to enhance the guest dining experiences whether inside with the sound of a crackling log fire during winter months, or outside in the garden oasis. Our chefs allow you complete flexibility when it comes to dining and the chalet is fully stocked ahead of your arrival to your requirements.

Technology & Design

The chalet is equipped with bespoke and superior quality technology. Around every corner there seems to be a a thoughtful and generous addition of equipment or device which enhances your stay. Ultra fast internet, Playstations for gamers, smart TV’s, cinema room and sonos throughout will keep you entertained whilst you discover the hidden and neatly designed amenities within the chalet.

Amenities

Each room is carefully thought out with amenities for comfort and pleasure. Bathrooms include hand picked perfumes for each individual guest room as well as luxury toiletries.

The two main suites include hammans with the Mont-Blanc suite also benefitting from a wood-burning stove. The suites as well as other areas in the chalet also offer workspace and desk computers.

When to Visit

Year round

Temperatures start to rise after the cold Winter months, with warm days in Spring to hot Summers. Autumn brings pleasant days and cooler nights, with snow starting to appear on the higher peaks which descends down the valley come December. No matter which month you choose, there is something for everyone year round.

Location Cordon, Haute Savoie

The chalet is located within a small French village looking onto the Mont Blanc massif with 1000 inhabitants, 1 hour from Geneva airport.

The village is a picturesque mountain hamlet which offers a bakery, bar and local artisan food shop.

Cordon even includes a very small ski lift of its own, though head to Megève (20 minutes) where the Evasion Mont blanc ski area and its 400km of pistes await. For the serious off-piste skier or hiker, Chamonix is a 40 minute drive.
